KOST USA is looking for a Production Manager to join our growing team.  This position manages all aspects of production lines during the weekend shift (Fri-Sun) in the Cincinnati plant. Ensures that all production lines operate efficiently, according to schedule, and in compliance with all operating and safety policies and procedures. Manages effective communication at all levels of the business. Also responsible for process improvement and projects as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees with assistance from HR; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

Highly active with execution of Safety committee directives

Conducts daily tool box meetings at beginning of the shift

Prepared prior to the start of the shift and ready to execute the day's plan

Execute the Manager's Checklist and turn in at end of shift daily to Senior Director of Operations

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

Evaluates current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices

Ensures adequate training of staff and employee compliance to organization's policies and practices

Coordinates activities of department with related activities of other departments to ensure efficiency and economy

Responsible for daily management of all production lines. This includes coordination with blending team and warehouse team to ensure components and blends are available for production.

Develop and/or maintain measurable goals for all lines, track daily production and establish metrics for on-going operational improvements.

Works with Senior Director of Operations to ensure production schedules are followed and completed daily

Ensure plant employees and other on-site people follow security, safety and spill plans

Works in harmony with the other members of Operations Management to ensure quality and production

Work with Senior Director of Operations on setting and implementing budgets, spill and safety plans, security plans and audits. Monitors and analyzes costs to control department budget.

Initiate or recommend employee hire, promotion, discharge or transfer. Reviews and performs disciplinary actions for plant employees in accordance with HR.

Ensure plant production area extremely clean at all times and execution of 5s program is maintained

Work in coordination with plant maintenance on downtime data

This position requires that the Production Manager spend 80% of the shift working on the production floor.

Other duties may be assigned.


Education and/or Experience                         

High School Diploma. Some college coursework a plus.

Three to five years of experience in a similar role.

Experience working in a team environment a plus.

Capability to communicate effectively with various skill levels and personality types to successfully accomplish your expectations

Ability to use Lean tools to achieve process improvements.
